A Bellefontaine Neighbors man admitted to traveling to Jefferson County in an attempt to have sexual contact with a teenage girl who he had contacted through Snapchat, the U.S. District Attorney’s Office reported.
Tay’vion K. Like, 25, on July 22 pleaded guilty to one count of coercion and enticement of a minor in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Missouri. He is scheduled to be sentenced on Oct. 22, court records show.
The District Attorney’s Office and Like’s attorney have requested a 10-year prison sentence, court documents said.
Like began communicating with the girl on July 14, 2025, through Snapchat, and he drove to the girl’s home early in the morning the next day. He had told the girl that he was coming to her house for sexual contact, according to the guilty plea.
The girl told Like that she was 14 years old, and he told her that he was 17. When the girl realized that he was outside of her home, she attempted to get him to leave, the plea said.
When Like would not leave, the girl told her father that Like was outside the house. The girl’s father called the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office at about 3:20 a.m. July 15 when Like was tapping on one of the home’s windows, according to the plea.
The father called the Sheriff’s Office again at about 8:35 a.m. because Like was still outside of the home. The guilty plea does not say if the Sheriff’s Office responded to the first call earlier in the morning, but it does say deputies located Like walking in the area of the home when they responded to the second call.
Like told deputies that he was in the area because he was “going to party with some girls.” He also said the girls told him that they were 19 years old, the guilty plea said.
When Like’s Snapchat account was searched, investigators saw that the girl declined his sexual advances and told him not to come to her house. She also told him she would call the police if he came to her home, according to the guilty plea.
Investigators also discovered that Like had similar sexual conversations on Snapchat with other underage girls. He told those girls that he was 19, the guilty plea said.
