An SUV with a bad battery was stolen when the driver left it unlocked and running outside an auto parts store in Arnold, police reported. The silver 2011 Honda CR-V was valued at about $10,000, Arnold Police reported.
A 19-year-old Imperial man told Arnold Police his SUV was stolen at about 5:45 p.m. Feb. 18 after he drove it to AutoZone, 1998 Richardson Road. He said he left it running because he was afraid to shut off the engine since the battery wasn’t working properly, the report said.
The SUV was stolen about three minutes after the victim went inside the business. As of Feb. 23, the SUV had not been recovered, and no suspects had been identified, Detective Lt. Jason Valentine said.
Anyone with information about the theft is asked to call Arnold Police at 636-296-3204.
