De Soto Police are investigating a recent burglary at an unoccupied home under renovation in the 400 block of Rathburn Street where a window was broken and a stove was stolen. The damage to the window was estimated at $100, and the stove was valued at $848, Capt. Jeffrey Wynn reported.
The theft was reported Jan. 14, but it is not known when the burglary occurred, he said.
“The victim, a 56-year-old Crystal City man, was contacted by a realtor about 6 p.m. stating a window had been busted out,” Wynn said. “The victim arrived about 6:50 p.m. and found that a General Electric stove was stolen."
As of Jan. 18, no arrests had been made and the stove had not been recovered, Wynn said. He asks anyone with information about the burglary to call De Soto Police at 636-586-8891.
