A car left unlocked with the keys inside recently was stolen from outside a home in the 1300 block of Rockwood Forest Drive in Arnold. The 2015 Volkswagen Jetta was recovered a couple of days later in St. Louis County, but a purse, Apple Air pods, Nike shoes, two credit cards and $300 in cash left inside the car was not recovered, Arnold Police reported.

The police did not provide an approximate value for the purse and other stolen items.

The victim, an 18-year-old Arnold woman, said she parked the car outside the home at about 8:15 p.m. April 16 and discovered it missing at about 8:20 a.m. April 17. The car was recovered at about 12:30 a.m. April 19 in the 8800 block of Old Lucas and Hunt Road in St. Louis County, the report said.

No one was in the Volkswagen when it was found, according to the report.

As of April 24, no suspects had been identified, Detective Lt. Jeremy Christopher said. He asks anyone with information about the theft to call Arnold Police at 636-296-3204.
