summons to appear

A 38-year-old St. Louis woman allegedly attacked a 47-year-old Imperial woman at the Texas Roadhouse restaurant in Arnold. The St. Louis woman also allegedly assaulted a 32-year-old Festus woman who works at the restaurant, 806 Arnold Commons Drive, Arnold Police reported.

Police got a call at 7:40 p.m. July 11 about the altercation, and when officers arrived, several people were restraining the suspect on a seat behind the hostess stand. At least three witnesses told officers the St. Louis woman instigated the alleged assaults, and an officer escorted her out of the restaurant and put her in a police vehicle, while another officer interviewed witnesses and the alleged victims, the report said.

The Imperial woman told police she was sitting at a table and the alleged assailant was seated in the same area with an older woman and a young boy and started screaming profanities at the older woman. The Imperial woman said she told the St. Louis woman to stop talking that way, and then the suspect allegedly hit her in the head, grabbed her by the hair and dragged her to the floor and continued hitting her, according to the report.

The Festus woman who works at the restaurant said she tried to stop the alleged assault, and the St. Louis woman hit her several times. The employee’s left eye started to swell, and she was taken to a hospital. No injuries were reported for the Imperial woman, the report said.

Arnold Police took the St. Louis woman to the Police Station, where she was booked and released after being issued summonses to appear in Arnold Municipal Court for two counts of fourth-degree assault, Detective Lt. Jason Valentine said.
