A 32-year-old St. Louis man recently was arrested for allegedly stealing an SUV from outside Customer Direct, a telemarketing company at 2136 Tenbrook Road in Arnold. The suspect, who has family in the Arnold area, was arrested in St. Louis County, according to Arnold Police.

The SUV, a black 2003 Mercury Mountaineer, was stolen about 5 p.m. Sept. 13 while the victim was inside the business working. The victim heard the vehicle start and saw a man driving it away, Detective Lt. James Jones said.

The next day, the suspect was found in St. Louis County with the vehicle, which was valued at $3,500. The suspect allegedly resisted arrest when St. Louis County Police took him into custody, Jones said.

On Sept. 15, Arnold Police arrested the man. Jones said Arnold Police will seek felony stealing charges against him through the Jefferson County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office.
