A 43-year-old St. Louis man recently was arrested for assault and felonious restraint, after he allegedly held his estranged girlfriend against her will and beat her for several hours the morning of Dec. 13, Arnold Police report.

The assault allegedly occurred at the victim’s home in the Starling Community mobile home park, beginning about 5:30 a.m. Dec. 13 and lasting throughout that morning, Detective Danny Gierer said.

The man allegedly refused to let the victim leave her home and beat her, the report said.

“At one point, he threatened to cut her throat with a knife he held against her neck,” according to the report.

The suspect left the woman’s home that evening, and the victim reported the alleged assault the next day, the report said.

The suspect was arrested at about 10 p.m. on Dec. 15, after he again showed up at the victim’s home, Gierer said.

Arnold Police will seek charges against him for felonious restraint and domestic assault with a dangerous weapon, Gierer said.

As of Thursday (Dec. 19) no charges had been filed, he said.

When the suspect showed up Dec. 15 at the victim’s home, he was with two other men who were arrested on unrelated crimes, the report said.

A 49-year-old Baldwin, Ill., man was arrested for illegal possession of a concealed handgun, and a 41-year-old Lake St. Louis man was arrested on outstanding warrants from St. Louis and St. Louis County.
