Arnold Police are seeking charges against a 22-year-old St. Louis man for allegedly using a fraudulent cashier’s check to purchase an SUV from a 54-year-old Arnold man. The fake check was for $48,000, police reported.

The victim told police he had arranged to sell a 2022 BMW X3 through Facebook, and he met the buyer on Nov. 23 outside the Arnold Police Station, 2101 Jeffco Blvd. On Dec. 2, the man who sold the SUV told police the cashier’s check he received for payment was fake, the report said.

Det. Lt. Jeremy Christopher said Arnold Police are seeking charges for felony forgery and stealing against the St. Louis man, but as of Dec. 9, the man had not been charged.
