Arnold Police are trying to find a 50-year-old St. Louis man who allegedly sold a mobile home that did not belong to him. He is accused of twice stealing money from people by accepting payments for the mobile home he didn’t own, police reported.

The latest victim, a 27-year-old Arnold man, said he had responded to a for sale listing on Facebook Marketplace for a mobile home in the 100 block of Ozark Hills Court. He met the St. Louis man on Oct. 12 and paid $2,500 in cash for the mobile home. The victim said on Nov. 3 he discovered the title for the mobile home had been forged, and the man who allegedly sold it to him was not the owner, the report said.

On Aug. 16, a 29-year-old woman and 27-year-old man, both of High Ridge, told Arnold Police they had purchased the same mobile home for $2,670. They also discovered the title they were given had been forged, Arnold Police reported.

Cpl. Brett Ackermann warned those purchasing items through social media sites to double-check the legitimacy of the person selling the items.
