Eureka Police arrested a 33-year-old St. Charles man at the MotoMart gas station, 5695 Fox Creek Road, where the man allegedly was seen using drugs. Officers allegedly found him with illegal drugs and drug paraphernalia, police reported.

Officers were called to the gas station at about 12:45 a.m. Aug. 13 after a witness called and said it looked like the man was using a syringe to inject drugs while parked at a gas pump. The man was in a 2007 Pontiac G5, the report said.

When officers arrived, the man was sitting the driver’s seat and he appeared to be twitching. An officer also saw capsules on the driver-side floorboard, and the man said the capsules contained fentanyl, according to the report.

After the man was arrested, an officer searched him and reportedly found two bags containing capsules; four syringes, including three that appeared to have been used; and a bag containing a white powdery substance. The man was taken to the Police Station, where he was booked and then transported to SSM Health St. Clair Hospital in Fenton for evaluation, the report said.

Depending on results of the drug analysis, Eureka Police will seek charges against the man through the St. Louis County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office for possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia, Capt. Michael Werges said.
