The Ste. Genevieve County Sheriff’s Office is investigating skeletal remains found by a hunter in northern Ste. Genevieve County, near Bloomsdale, according to a statement released Tuesday (Nov. 1).
Regional news sources are reporting that the remains were found near property owned by Lynn Messer’s family farm. Messer of Bloomsdale has been missing since July 2014, and at that time, she was 52. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Festus-Crystal City.
An FBI forensic team was scheduled to assist local investigators at the scene today (Nov. 2).
