Six people were arrested for alleged possession of methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia at the Super 8 by Wyndham hotel in Pevely on Sunday morning (Dec. 9). The arrestees included a 43-year-old Herculaneum woman, a 40-year-old High Ridge man, a 34-year-old Festus man, a 25-year-old St. Louis man, a 21-year-old St. Louis man and a 17-year-old St. Louis woman.
At about 9:20 a.m., A Pevely Police officer was driving on the southbound exit ramp from I-55 to Hwy. Z and reportedly witnessed what appeared to be a drug transaction on the hotel parking lot, 1711 Hwy. Z. When the officer drove over to the parking lot, two men in a vehicle exited and quickly went inside the hotel, Capt. Larry Miller said.
“Upon further investigation, contact was made with six subjects in one of the rooms who all admitted to using methamphetamine,” Miller reported.
A K9 officer – a police dog – was brought in and allegedly detected drugs in several places in the room, and three containers filled with ice meth were found. In all, about 7.2 grams of meth allegedly was found, the report said.
The Herculaneum woman was wanted in Arnold on a misdemeanor warrant, the High Ridge man was wanted in Jefferson County on two warrants and the 21-year-old St. Louis man was wanted in St. Louis County on a warrant for burglary, Miller said.
The three wanted on warrants were held for the law enforcement agencies that wanted them, and the others were released pending application for warrants. Depending on results from the drug analysis, Pevely Police will seek charges against the six through the Jefferson County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office, Miller said.
