The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office has identified a woman as a person of interest in the theft of an SUV and a Jeep in the Pacific area. The woman was identified after the department posted two photos on Facebook asking for help in the case, the Sheriff’s Office reported.
As of May 3, investigators had not located or arrested the woman, Sheriff’s Office spokesman Grant Bissell said.
Because the woman is a person of interest, the department is not releasing her age or hometown at this time, Bissell added.
Investigators believe the woman is connected to the theft of a 2005 Hyundai Santa Fe stolen between about 5 p.m. April 27 and 6 a.m. April 28 in the 100 block of St. Joseph’s Hill Road south of Pacific, as well as a 2014 Jeep Wrangler stolen between about 6 a.m. and 10 a.m. April 28 from a home’s garage in the 2000 block of Butternut Drive, which is near St. Joseph’s Hill Road, the Sheriff’s Office reported.
Both vehicles were unlocked with the keys inside when they were stolen, the report said.
The Santa Fe was recovered on April 28 in a field near St. Joseph’s Hill Road, and as of May 3, the Wrangler had not been recovered, Bissell said.
He asks anyone with information about the woman’s location or the thefts to call the Sheriff’s Office at 636-797-5515.
