The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a fire that destroyed a shed at a home in the 5300 block of Echo Court in House Springs. Windows were found broken at the residence and on a vehicle parked in the driveway, the police reported.
The fire on July 23 destroyed the shed and the items inside it. The homeowner told investigators he owned what was in the backyard shed, the report said.
The Sheriff’s Office did not provide an approximate cost to replace the shed or the value of what was stored in the shed. It also did not provide an estimate to repair the broken windows.
As of Aug. 7, the Sheriff’s Office has not ruled if the fire was criminally started, spokesman Grant Bissell said. He asks anyone with information about the fire to call the Sheriff’s Office at 636-797-5515.
