The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office says a 35-year-old Arnold man is suspected of stealing from a home in the 200 block of Coventry Lane in unincorporated Fenton between April 23 and May 31. Authorities believe the man had been squatting in the vacant home, the Sheriff’s Office reported.
The homeowner, who had not lived in the house in approximately a year, told deputies she visited the house and found “everything she owned scattered throughout, and it appeared as if someone had been living there,” the report said.
In addition, she found the following items missing: a Nintendo Wii game system; a TV box; a white wedding dress and a guitar amplifier. The stolen items were valued at $1,100, according to the report.
Sheriff’s Office spokesman Grant Bissell said June 10 that none of the stolen items had been recovered, and the suspect had not been arrested. Anyone with information is asked to call the Sheriff’s Office at 636-797-5515.
