The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office is trying to find two Festus men, one 42 years old and the other 41, for allegedly breaking into a home in the 1400 block of Eva Way south of Festus. A woman they know lives at the home, Sheriff’s Office spokesman Grant Bissell said.

At about 4 p.m. July 4, one of the men reportedly broke a glass window in the door and then unlocked the door. Then, the two men allegedly entered the home, the report said.

The victim said she is friends with the men. She said she was sitting on her living room couch and saw the men breaking into her home and called 911 when they broke the glass. The damage to the door was estimated at $50, according to the report.

One of the men reportedly took the woman’s black Galaxy A10 Track phone, valued at about $60. The men also allegedly stole a 24-pack of Dr. Pepper, the report said.

As of July 7, the Sheriff’s Office has not located either of the men, Bissell said. Anyone with information about the incident should call the Sheriff’s Office at 636-797-5515.
