The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office is looking for a 29-year-old Irondale woman suspected of stealing a rental car parked at a home in the 1600 block of Hwy. 61 in the Festus area.
The car, a white 2014 Chevrolet Cruze, was being rented by a man, and his wife had driven it to the home on Hwy. 61 to visit with friends, said Capt. Ron Arnhart of the Sheriff’s Office.
Between 12:30 p.m. and 6 p.m. Feb. 3, while the wife was asleep inside the home, the suspect allegedly stole the car keys and then took the car, the Sheriff’s Office reported.
It was found Jan. 9 in Cahokia, Ill., Arnhart said.
However, the suspect had not been located as of Feb. 10, he said.
