The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office is investigating two recent thefts from businesses on North Lark Industrial Drive in Fenton.
At about 11:35 a.m. Feb. 26, someone drove up to Duct Systems in the 2100 block of North Lark Industrial in a dark-colored pickup, cut the lock on a security gate to get onto the property and then cut a lock on a cage where propane tanks were stored outside the business and stole four tanks, the Sheriff’s Office reported.
The tanks are silver and have the marking, “CK,” on them. In all the tanks were valued at $667, the report said.
The theft was captured by security cameras, according to the report.
At 10:22 p.m. that same day, someone drove up to On-Site Alloy Wheel Repair in the 2400 block of North Lark Industrial in a white Ford Super Duty four-door, long-bed pickup before a passenger got out and directed the driver who backed up the pickup to a trailer, and then the two hooked the pickup to the trailer and stole it, the report said.
The black 2014 Retco 22-foot, dove-tail, flat-bed trailer with winch was valued at about $3,500, according to the report.
That theft also was captured by security cameras.
As of Monday, neither the propane tanks nor the trailer had been recovered, and there were no suspects or arrests, said Capt. Ron Arnhart of the Sheriff’s Office.
