The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office is seeking charges against a 35-year-old De Soto woman for allegedly stealing prescription medicine and selling it to others.
Sometime on April 13, the woman allegedly stole several medications, including trazodone, latramogine, Seroquel, Ambien, Xanax and Soma, as well as some clothing from a home in the 13000 block of Hwy. JJ in the De Soto area, where her boyfriend lived, the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office reports.
In all, the items were valued at about $900, the report said.
The victim had recorded a conversation he had with his girlfriend when she allegedly admitted to stealing and then selling the medication, according to the report.
Charges for stealing and distribution of a controlled substance will be sought against the woman through the Jefferson County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office, said Capt. Ron Arnhart of the Sheriff’s Office.
