The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office is trying to find a black and white pit pull that appears to have been stolen from a home in the 200 block of Green Brook Court in unincorporated Fenton. The dog went missing July 19, the Sheriff’s Office reported.

The victim came home at about 10:30 p.m. that day and discovered her front door was open. She told deputies she may have left that door unlocked, but she also found the back door to the home open, the report said.

“I always lock and dead bolt the rear door,” the victim told deputies.

As of Aug. 27, the dog, who is named Domino, had not been located. The dog was valued at $900, the Sheriff’s Office reported.

A person of interest has been identified, but the Sheriff’s Office would not provide any details about the person’s identity, spokesman Grant Bissell said.
