A victim who left his pickup with a flat tire on the side of the road in Imperial returned to find the truck missing. The theft occurred between 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. Feb. 24 on southbound Hwy. 21 under the West Rock Creek Road overpass, according to the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office.

After the man got a flat tire on his 1999 Chevrolet 1500 Z71 and pulled to the side of the road, he contacted his nephew to pick him up so he could go get a new tire. The man left with his nephew, and the truck was gone when the man returned about three hours later, the report said.

The black truck with a fiberglass bed cover and rusted cab corners was valued at $1,000. As of March 8, it had not been recovered, Sheriff’s Office spokesman Grant Bissell said.

He said no arrests had been made either. Anyone with information about the theft is urged to call the Sheriff’s Office at 636-797-5515.
