The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the recent theft of $4,125 in items from a home's attached garage in the 7900 block of Homestead Acres Road in Cedar Hill. The victim told deputies the incident occurred between 10 p.m. Aug. 7 and 5 p.m. Aug. 8, a Sheriff's Office report said.
The culprit got into the garage through an unlocked garage door and stole a 1994 Kodiak ATV; two chainsaws; a Hitachi drill; a large socket wrench set; a hunting pack and rain gear; a Browning jacket and a Carhartt sweatshirt. A cigarette butt was found at the scene that didn't belong to the victim, and it was seized as evidence, the report said.
As of Aug. 18, no items had been recovered and no arrests had been made, Cpl. Matthew Moore said.
There were no suspects or arrests either, he said. Anyone with information about the theft is asked to call the Sheriff’s Office tip line at 636-797-5515.
