The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office is investigating two recent burglaries at businesses on Gravois Road in House Springs – one at Jamm in Bar & Grill and the other at Title Cash.

At 2:50 a.m. July 10, a deputy responded to a call about an alarm sounding at Jamm in Bar & Grill, 4653 Gravois Road, and found a rear door to the building partially open. It had been forced open, the report said.

The deputy also saw footprints outside that door, and the footprints continued inside the business. After the deputy found no one inside the business, the owner was asked to check if anything was missing and reported that cash was taken from behind the bar, money bags were taken from an office and a bottle of Crown Royal whiskey was stolen from a cabinet. The missing cash and change totaled about $600, and the whiskey was valued at $42.50. In addition, damage to the door was estimated at $1,700, according to the report.

During the investigation, the deputy discovered that a chain-link fence behind the building had been cut and it appeared the culprit got access to the rear of the building there. In addition, the phone and internet lines to the business had been cut, and a power cable to a surveillance system had been removed, the report said.

That same morning, between 2:30 a.m. and 3:30 a.m., someone pried open a rear door to Title Cash, also in the 4600 block of Gravois Road, and stole $150 in cash. Also, the phone and internet lines were cut there, too, according to the report.

The Sheriff’s Office believes the two burglaries are related since they occurred around the same time and the businesses are next to each other, Cpl. Matthew Moore said.

As of July 17, none of the stolen money or other items had been recovered, and there were no suspects or arrests, Moore said. Anyone with information about the burglaries is asked to call the Sheriff’s Office tip line at 636-797-5515.
