The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a break-in at Imperial Self Storage, 6645 Hwy. 61-67, in Imperial. Items were stolen from several clients’ lockers, a report said.

The Sheriff’s Office got a call about 1:50 p.m. Nov. 19 about the theft. Surveillance footage showed a 1998 Ford F-250 pickup drive through a side entry gate at 2:33 a.m. that day and the same vehicle leave at 3:39 a.m. The footage also showed items in the back of the pickup as it left, according to the report.

The business manager said the suspect broke into five lockers at the facility. Stolen items included three 60-inch televisions, three grandmother clocks and miscellaneous tools. Altogether, the items were valued at $6,000, the report said.

The deputy later found the pickup abandoned along Hwy. 61-67 approximately 500 yards north of the business. The vehicle was seized as evidence, according to the report.

As of Thursday (Dec. 7), the items stolen from the lockers had not been recovered, and there were no suspects or arrests, Cpl. Matthew Moore said. Anyone with information is urged to call the Sheriff’s Office tip line at 636-797-5515.
