crime tape and magnifying glass

Items stolen from a pole barn at a home in the 5300 block of Hunning Road in High Ridge were later discovered for sale on Facebook. The items, which had not been recovered as of Aug. 19, were valued at $17,150, the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office reported.

The theft happened overnight between July 25 and July 26, when someone broke into the pole barn the victim uses for rebuilding cars. It appeared the culprit pulled apart two pieces of sheet metal to get inside and then stole various vehicle parts, flashlights, a fog light and collectible coins, the report said.

Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office spokesman Grant Bissell said Aug. 19 that no arrests had been made. However, one of the victim’s friends reportedly found some of the parts on Facebook Marketplace, and a 39-year-old Wentzville man has been identified as a suspect.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Sheriff’s Office at 636-797-5515.
