Three Arnold men, ages 17, 21, and 24, recently were arrested for allegedly burglarizing two apartments in the 5300 block of Lakewood Terrace in Imperial. The burglaries were reported just before 3 p.m. July 14, after someone forced open the front doors to the apartments and stole more than $7,200 in electronics and other items, the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office reports.

Stolen items included three flat-screen TVs, two DVD players, an Xbox 360 console, three laptop computers, an iPhone, vehicle keys, cash, jewelry, a highchair, baby clothes, diapers and more. In all, the items were valued at $7,266, the report said.

During the investigation, a witness reported seeing two men, including one the witness recognized, carrying items that matched the description of some stolen from the apartments. Suspects were identified and traced to an address on Orchard Drive, where deputies found some of the suspects loading stolen items into a vehicle, the report said.

Two of the men also allegedly were found with marijuana. All three men were taken into custody and transported to the Jefferson County Jail, where they were booked and released pending application for warrants, Lt. Gary Higginbotham reported.

The Sheriff’s Office will seek second-degree burglary charges against all three and marijuana possession charges against two of them. As of Monday (July 18), no charges had been filed, Higginbotham said.
