Andrea Politte believes she got a glimpse of the vandals who tore up the fourth-hole green at her Fore Honor Golf & Event Center at Deer Creek USA, 5300 Dulin Creek Road, in House Springs.
The vandalism was caused by one or more vehicles being driven on the green sometime overnight between April 1 and April 2. The damage was estimated at $30,000 or more, the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office reported.
Investigators said it looked like a golf cart or ATV had been driven on the golf course, leaving behind a bunch of ruts on the green.
Politte said she believes she saw the youngsters responsible for the vandalism from a distance around 5:30 p.m. April 2. She said it looked like they came back to have a look at the damaged green.
On the Fore Honor Facebook page, Politte said the youngsters she saw were driving “a smaller-sized white ATV and a smaller-sized white motorcycle with some red on it.” She also said the boys were wearing white helmets and matching red zip-up hoodies.
“I just hope the parents of these kids learn of this and step forward. They need to right this wrong.”
As of Wednesday (April 10), there were no suspects identified and no arrests, Sheriff’s Office spokesman Grant Bissell said.
Politte said golfers can still use the 18-hole course, but they cannot play the fourth green until repairs are made and she didn’t know when the repairs would be completed.
“(Players) will just have to (take a 2- putt) on the fourth green.”
The golf course caters to military and emergency services personnel.
