Rolando G. Salinas, 33, of Herculaneum has been sentenced to 10 years in prison for possession of child pornography, according to court records.
In June 2013, law enforcement officials served a search warrant at Salinas’ home in the 400 block of Reservoir Street in Herculaneum and seized electronic and digital devices, which were found to have still images and videos of child porn downloaded on them. Some of the images appeared to be of children younger than 14 years old engaging in sexual acts, the probable-cause statement said.
The search was conducted after Salinas had shared child porn images with a computer that turned out to be an undercover law enforcement officer, the report said.
During the investigation, Salinas admitted to downloading the child porn onto his devices, according to the report.
He pleaded guilty to one count of possession of child porn, a felony, and on July 19, Jefferson County Div. 1 Circuit Judge Bob Wilkins, who’s now retired, sentenced him to 10 years in prison. However, Salinas may be released early if he successfully completes a 120-day treatment program.
Jefferson County assistant prosecuting attorney Marie Pudlowski handled the case.
Salinas currently is in the Farmington Correctional Center.
