Rockwood Board of Education member Izzy Imig was charged with stealing from a department store in Ballwin on March 7.
The Ballwin Police Department issued a summons for Imig at 3:40 p.m. Friday for allegedly stealing from the Ballwin Target, 15025 Manchester Road, about an hour prior.
Shannon Schaper, Ballwin Police spokesperson, said Imig was not arrested following the alleged incident.
Imig has not returned a phone call inquiring about the alleged incident as of Tuesday morning, March 11.
Board President Lynne Midyett said the board has been informed that “a board member has been accused of shoplifting.”
“We understand that this news may be concerning to our community,” she said. “The Board is monitoring the situation, and we are committed to upholding the highest ethical standards and ensuring the continued focus on the education and well-being of our students and staff.”
Imig, 41 of Wildwood was first elected to the board in 2022. Her term expires this year, and she is running for reelection in the April 8 municipal election along with Mara Vorachek-Warren and Sarah Boyer for two open board seats.
