Reward offered

A $2,500 reward is being offered to anyone who can provide information that leads to the arrest and conviction of the person who robbed Big T Recycling and Scrap Metal at gunpoint early last month, Byrnes Mill Detective Mike Dueker said.

The armed robbery occurred about 11 a.m. March 7 at the business, 3560 Gravois Road, in Byrnes Mill.

The suspect allegedly was armed with a black gun with silver slides and pointed it at a male employee before stealing $2,400 in cash from the business and fleeing in a pickup, Dueker said.

“The truck we are looking for is peculiar in nature,” he said.

The Ford F-250 pickup had a black driver side and hood and a maroon passenger side. It also had no plates and no tailgate.

The suspect is described as white male, about 6-feet tall and weighing about 220 pounds. He was wearing a tan bandana around his face during the robbery, Dueker said.

No one was hurt in the robbery; however, the suspect took the employee’s phone and slammed it on the ground so the person could not call police, Dueker said.

“It’s rare for this town to have an armed robbery,” he said.

Big T Recycling and Scrap Metal is offering the reward.

Dueker asks anyone with information about the robbery to call 636-677-7727.
