Eureka Police are investigating the theft of items from a car left unlocked in the 2100 block of Windswept Farms Drive in Eureka while the victim was walking her child to the school bus stop. A radar detector valued at about $534 and about $5 worth of change were stolen from the car, police reported.
The woman said she had unlocked her 2019 Chevrolet Cruze at about 7 a.m. Jan. 5 after leaving the house to head to the bus stop. When she returned home at about 7:15 a.m., she discovered her car had been rifled through and the radar detector and change stolen, the report said.
As of Jan. 13, the stolen items had been recovered, and no suspects had been identified, Lt. Michael Werges said. He asks anyone with information about the incident to call Eureka Police at 636-938-6600.
