Arnold Police are trying to find a maroon Dodge Charger that may have been used during a theft from two cars parked outside a gym. A rear passenger window on a 2011 Chevrolet Cruze was smashed, and items were taken from the car. In addition, items were stolen from a 2017 Ford Mustang, which was left unlocked on the parking lot, the report said, police reported.
The thefts occurred between about 4:40 p.m. and 5:20 p.m. on Oct. 29 outside Xist Fitness, 3823 Vogel Road, the report said.
A 26-year-old Imperial woman drove the Cruze to the gym, and she was inside from about 4:40 p.m. to 5:20 p.m. When she returned to her car, she found the window smashed and her purse missing. It contained her credit cards, her driver’s license and other items, according to the report.
The cost to repair the window was estimated at $350, and the value of the pursue and its contents was $93, police reported.
An 18-year-old Imperial man arrived at the gym in the Mustang at about 4:45 p.m., and when he returned to his car at about 6:15 p.m., he discovered his wallet, a speaker and other items missing. Those items were valued at $287.99, the report said.
Surveillance footage showed a Charger parked near the victims’ vehicles at the time of the thefts. As of Nov. 6, the Charger had not been located, and none of the missing items had been recovered, Capt. Rich Shular said.
