“Vulgar, profane and racist statements” were spray-painted on several vehicles at the Walden Pond Apartments on Emerson Road in High Ridge. Similar statements were spray-painted on the apartment building, too, the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office reported.
Deputies were called to the apartment building at 4:20 a.m. May 24 and found several vehicles had been vandalized, including a 2017 Jeep Renegade, a 2008 Kia Optima, a 2007 Acura MDX and a 2003 Chevrolet Cavalier. The apartment building and a fence also had been vandalized, and all the damage was estimated at $10,000, the report said.
Sheriff’s Office spokesman Grant Bissell said June 3 that a 30-year-old St. Louis man had been identified as a suspect, but no arrests had been made. Anyone with information about the incident is asked to call the Sheriff’s Office at 636-797-5515.
