Authorities are trying to identify a man who allegedly stole merchandise from two Arnold stores. The thefts occurred on May 18 and May 19, Arnold Police reported.
The suspect looked like he was his 20s, and he was seen driving a white 2010 Nissan Murano, the report said.
The first incident occurred at the Auto Zone, 1998 Richardson Road, at about 7:30 p.m. May 18, when the man allegedly stole nine rolls of window tint and wiper blades, altogether valued at $200, according to the report.
The man allegedly was seen leaving the auto parts store in the Nissan, which hit the back end of a 2019 Kia Sorento in the parking lot. The bumper and tailgate on the Kia were damaged, but Arnold Police had no estimate for the damage.
At about 6:40 p.m. May 19, the same man allegedly stole five pairs of shoes from Shoe Carnival, 2273 Michigan Ave. The shoes were valued at $200, the report said.
He reportedly was seen leaving the store’s parking lot in the same Nissan. The car had license plates that had been reported stolen from St. Louis, according to the report.
As of May 28, the man had not been identified, and none of the stolen items had been recovered, Capt. Rich Shular said. Anyone with information about the incident should call Arnold Police at 636-296-3204.
