Eureka High

There will be a heavy police presence Thursday morning, July 6, at Eureka High School, 4525 Hwy. 109, where law enforcement agencies are scheduled to hold an active-shooter drill. The drill is scheduled for 9-11 a.m., Eureka Police Lt. Michael Werges said.

He said the Eureka Police Department and partnering law enforcement agencies will practice a response to the school for an active-shooter call. No students will be at the school during the drill.

Werges said police will measure the response time to the school, and officers will practice entering the building and searching rooms during the event.
