Arnold Police are looking for two Arnold men, ages 30 and 58, in connection with an alleged assault that occurred at about 5:35 p.m. Sept. 13 in the 2300 block of Virginia Court, authorities reported.

The incident stemmed from a fight the 30-year-old man allegedly started with a 27-year-old Arnold man while the two unloaded items from the back of a pickup. At one point, the 27-year-old began to laugh at the 30-year-old, who then allegedly punched him. The 27-year-old then allegedly knocked the 30-year-old down, police reported.

The 58-year-old man, who is believed to be the 30-year-old’s father, witnessed the incident and grabbed a shovel to stop the 27-year-old. A 52-year man tried to stop the 58-year-old, who allegedly hit the man trying to intervene in the head with the handle of the shovel.

When the 58-year-old reached the pickup, he allegedly struck the 27-year-old in the back of the leg causing a serious injury. The 27-year-old was transported by Rock Township Ambulance to St. Anthony’s Medical Center in south St. Louis County, where surgery was required to repair his leg. He was later released, the report said.

The father and son fled the scene before authorities arrived, and both have been listed as wanted for second-degree assault, third-degree assault, armed criminal action and unlawful use of a weapon, Lt. Clinton Wooldridge said.

As of Sept. 24, police had not been able to contact either of the two men, Wooldridge said.
