Arnold Police are seeking information about a man who allegedly hit a 13-year-old Arnold boy in the head Sunday (Sept. 18), leaving him with a cut that required stitches, Detective Lt. James Jones said.
The incident happened at about 11:30 a.m. at the Circle K gas station, 504 Jeffco Blvd., in Arnold, before the start of the Arnold Days Parade, which began at 1 p.m. at the Fox C-6 Service Center and proceeded north on Jeffco, past the gas station and ended at Arnold City Park.
The suspect allegedly was at the gas station to watch the parade from a pickup parked there, and after the incident, he reportedly stayed at the station and watched the procession, Jones said.
The boy, who was with two other children, reportedly lives near the station and was in the area picking up trash and placing it in a bag, Jones said.
Then, while the boy was playing with a squeegee at the station and dropped the bag of trash, the suspect allegedly confronted him before picking up the bag and allegedly hitting the boy in the head with it, Jones said.
He said the boy went home and told his mother about the incident. Later, the boy's family took him to an area hospital, where he got stitches.
As of today (Sept. 20), Arnold Police had not identified the man. However, officers were working to get surveillance photos of him, Jones said.
