Eureka Police patch

Eureka Police are trying to identify a man allegedly seen in surveillance video stealing $2,672.65 worth of supplements and other items from the Walgreens pharmacy, 250 E. Fourth St. The store manager told police a similar theft happened at the pharmacy’s Wildwood location on the same day, authorities reported.

Officers were called to the Eureka location at about 3:30 p.m. Nov. 19 after the manager noticed all the Prevagen, a memory support and brain health supplement, missing from a pharmacy shelf. He told police he reviewed the store’s inventory, and it indicated the supplements had not been sold, the report said.

Surveillance video was reviewed and reportedly showed a man stealing items at about 8:20 p.m. Nov. 18. He allegedly took all the Prevagen from the shelf and placed it in basket and then put Rogaine, teeth whitening products and Oral-B electric toothbrushes in the basket and allegedly left the store without paying for the items, the report said.

The man was white and was wearing a dark-colored baseball hat, a red mask over his face, a black long-sleeve shirt and dark pants, according to the report.

The manager told Eureka Police he contacted the store at 100 Plaza Drive in Wildwood and the manager there said surveillance video from that store reportedly showed a man wearing similar clothing steal similar items. The value for the items stolen at the Wildwood store was not reported to Eureka Police, Lt. Michael Werges said.

As of Dec. 2, the man in the video had not been identified, and none of the items stolen from either pharmacy had been recovered, Werges said. He asks anyone with information about the incidents to call Eureka Police at 636-938-6600.
