Arnold Police are seeking a man who allegedly defrauded a woman out of $700 when she tried to sell him an iPhone, the report said.
The woman had advertised an iPhone 7 for sale on Craigslist, asking $700 for it. Then, at about 11 a.m. April 29, she met the suspect at the McDonald’s restaurant, 250 Arnold Crossroads Center, and gave him the phone, according to the report.
In exchange, the man gave the woman a bag that supposedly had money in it. As the man was leaving with the phone, though, the woman realized the seven $100 bills inside the bag were fake. The bills had the words, “Motion Picture Use Only,” on them, the report said.
The man was described as Asian. As of Thursday (May 11), the suspect had not been identified, Arnold Police Lt. Brian Carroll said.
