Arnold Police are investigating thefts from three unlocked vehicles parked in the same part of town overnight between Feb. 21 and Feb. 22. Two of the thefts were from vehicles parked on Elizabeth Drive and the other from a vehicle parked on Pomme Road, the report said.
Between midnight and 5 a.m. Feb. 22, someone illegally entered a 2000 Chevrolet Cavalier parked in the 1600 block of Elizabeth Drive and stole about $5 in change. During that same period, someone got inside an unlocked 2013 Toyota Rav4 parked in front of a different home in the 1600 block of Elizabeth Drive and stole a laptop computer valued at about $1,500, according to the report.
The third theft during that time frame was from a 2015 Chevrolet Equinox parked in the 1800 block of Pomme Road, and several items were stolen, including a checkbook, sunglasses, CDs, prescription medication, sandals and suntan lotion. Altogether, those items were valued at $360, the report said.
Later, a Jefferson County deputy found the checkbook and sunglasses in the unincorporated part of the county and turned them over to Arnold Police, said Detective Lt. James Jones of the Arnold Police Department.
As of Monday (Feb. 27), none of the other stolen items had been recovered, and there were no suspects or arrests, he said. Anyone with information about the thefts is asked to call Arnold Police at 636-296-3204.
