Arnold Police are investigating a recent rash of vehicle break-ins at the Drury Inn and Suites and the Pear Tree Inn in the Crossroads retail complex at Hwy. 141 and Jeffco Boulevard, as well as at the Value Place hotel in the Arnold Commons development at Hwy. 141 and Church roads.
At 5:15 a.m. May 6, Arnold Police got a call that men were at the Drury and Pear Tree hotels acting suspiciously and possibly breaking into vehicles there, according to Arnold Police.
When officers arrived, they found that 19 vehicles had been broken into, and about $9,384 in items had been stolen from them. In addition, there was thousands of dollars in damage to the vehicles. Unfortunately, the suspicious acting men were gone when officers arrived, Arnold Police Capt. Robert Ruckman said.
At about 6 a.m., Arnold Police got a call that vehicles at Value Place had been broken into. When officers arrived there, they found that culprits had broken into eight vehicles, causing hundreds of dollars in damage, and about $1,405 in items had been stolen from them, Ruckman said.
As of Wednesday (May 18), none of the stolen items had been recovered. There were no suspects or arrests either, Ruckman said.
It was the second time in the past in less than 10 days that vehicles had been broken into at Arnold hotels.
Sometime between late April 26 and early April 27, someone broke into three vehicles at either the Drury or the Pear Tree hotels.
