A 28-year-old Festus woman has been arrested for allegedly stealing baby formula from two Arnold stores. The alleged thefts occurred on June 5, and the woman was arrested the same day, Arnold Police report.
At 11:20 a.m., Arnold Police got a report that the woman allegedly had stolen 10 cans of baby formula from the Walmart Supercenter, 2201 Michigan Ave., in Arnold. The formula was valued at $170.80, the report said.
An officer who was at Walmart to take the woman into custody learned during the investigation that the suspect allegedly had just stolen five cans of baby formula at the Schnucks store, 3900 Vogel Road, in Arnold.
In addition, the woman allegedly stole baby formula from the Arnold Walmart twice during the previous month. On May 15, she allegedly stole 18 cans, which were worth $305, and on May 16, she allegedly stole 14 cans worth $237, Detective Lt. James Jones said.
He said the woman was booked, issued summonses to appear in Arnold Municipal Court for misdemeanor stealing and released.
