Eureka Police are investigating the theft of a pickup, trailer and landscaping equipment from a gated lot at All-Star Landscaping, 18601 Hwy. 66, Capt. David Wilson said.
A white 2018 GMC Denali 5500 crew cab stolen was stolen from the lot behind the business between 7 p.m. Aug. 21 and 7 a.m. Aug. 22, and it is believed the $60,000 pickup was used to force another pickup away from a black J Bond and Son trailer, which contained multiple pieces of equipment valued at just more than $28,000, the report said.
The Denali had been left unlocked with the key in the ignition, police reported. The gate to the fence surrounding the lot had been locked, but it did not appear to have been damaged.
A 2000 Chevrolet Silverado, which had been connected to the trailer, was found forced from where it had been parked. The Silverado’s back window was damaged and the ignition appeared to have been tampered with, according to the report.
The Silverado was locked, and there was no estimate for the damage. The trailer is valued at $3,000, the report said.
The stolen equipment included two 52-inch Exmark walk-behind mowers, a 32-inch Exmark walk-behind mower, a 21-inch Exmark walk-behind mower, three backpack blowers, four Stihl hedge trimmers, four Stihl chainsaws, a concrete cut saw and a Dewalt side grinder, the report said.
As of Sept. 3, there were no suspects and the pickup, trailer and equipment had not been recovered, Wilson said.
