A pickup, tools and other items recently were stolen from a home in the 12000 block of Victoria Heights in the Festus area. The theft occurred between April 11 and April 24, the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office reports.
In addition to a maroon 1989 Chevrolet Silverado, stolen items included a mulch maker and stand for it; assorted automotive tools; numerous fishing poles; life jackets; clothes and other items from the pickup. In all, the stolen items were valued at $5,260, the report said.
The victim said he no longer lived at the home but had left the pickup and other items there to be retrieved later, and when he went to get them on April 24, found them missing. The person who still lives at the home told the victim she assumed he had gotten the pickup and other items when she noticed them missing, according to the report.
Neither the pickup nor the other items had been recovered, and there were no suspects or arrests as of April 26, said Lt. Gary Higginbotham of the Sheriff’s Office. Anyone with information about the theft is asked to call the Sheriff’s Office tip line at 636-797-5515.
