Arnold Police are investigating the theft of a pickup and damage to a box truck, SUV and fence at I-55 Store It, 3401 Robinson Drive. The theft and damage occurred overnight between March 28 and 29, police reported.

Surveillance footage reportedly shows three men around the vehicles during the time the theft and property damage occurred. However, the men had not been identified as of April 2, Capt. Rich Shular said.

A 50-year-old Arnold man had been storing the pickup, a green 1993 Chevrolet S-10, at the storage business. The culprits apparently used the stolen pickup to drive through a metal fence to get out of the lot, causing an estimated $5,000 in damage. The pickup was valued at about $1,500, the report said.

A 56-year-old Arnold man was storing the 2003 Mitsubishi box truck and the 2004 Ford Excursion SUV at the business. A battery was removed from the box truck, causing damage to that vehicle. Then, the culprits apparently tried to hook up the battery to the SUV, but failed and caused damage to that vehicle, according to the report.

The damage to the box truck and SUV was estimated at $500, the report said.

Anyone with information about the incident is asked to call Arnold Police at 636-296-3204.
