A pickup that was stolen after it was left unlocked and running outside an Arnold gas station was recovered in St. Louis County the same day, but an iPhone worth about $1,000 and tools worth about $600 that were inside the vehicle were still missing, Arnold Police reported.

The victim, a 37-year-old Arnold man, left the 2013 Ford F-150 running and unlocked at about 7:50 a.m. Jan. 18 at the Circle K gas station, 504 Jeffco Blvd., and went inside the convenience store. A man wearing a ski mask was seen getting out of a 2006 Mercury Milan, getting into the pickup and driving away with it. The Milan had been reported stolen out of St. Louis County, the report said.

In the afternoon of Jan. 18, the F-150 was found on Bayless Avenue in St. Louis County, but the possessions the victim had left in the pickup were gone, according to the report.

As of Jan. 26, the stolen phone and tools had not been recovered and police had not identified the suspect, Detective Lt. Jason Valentine said. Anyone with information about the incident should call Arnold Police at 636-296-3204.
