A pickup was driven off the lot of a car dealership sometime June 23-24 after a car was pushed through the business’s gate to create a way out. The theft occurred between 2:30 p.m. June 23 and 7 a.m. June 24, Eureka Police reported.
Police were called to Midwest Motors, 1400 S. Outer Road, when a 2017 Chevrolet Cruze was discovered near the dealership’s open gate. The car's hood and rear bumper were damaged, indicating its use as a battering ram, and skid marks were found near the car, police reported.
The report said a copper 2005 Ford F-350, valued at $20,000, was missing and police believe it was used to push the Cruze through the gate.
As of June 24, there was no estimated cost for the damage to the Cruze or the gate, Capt. David Wilson said.
The pickup and car were locked, and the keys were not in the vehicles, the report said.
As of June 24, there were no suspects and the pickup had not been recovered, Wilson said.
Anyone with information about the incident should call Eureka Police at 636-938-6601.
