The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the theft of a pickup from outside a Circle K gas station, 8401 Industrial Drive, in Cedar Hill. The maroon 2008 Dodge Ram 1500 was stolen at about 9 p.m. May 12, the Sheriff’s Office reported.
The owner said he left the pickup unlocked and the engine running when he went inside the convenience store for no “more than two minutes,” the report said.
A witness told deputies a white coupe pulled up next to the pickup when the owner went inside the store. The witness also said a man got out of the car and into the pickup, which then headed east on Hwy. 30 with the coupe following it, according to the report.
The pickup was valued at $7,000. As of May 28, the pickup had not been recovered, and no suspects had been identified, Sheriff’s Office spokesman Grant Bissell said. He asks anyone with information about the theft to call the Sheriff’s Office at 636-797-5515.
