Arnold Police are trying to locate a white 2004 Ford F-250 that someone reportedly used to damage a gate and trash can at Unico, 1120 Intagliata Drive. The pickup allegedly was used to haul away scrap metal that had been stored outside the business - a heating and air-conditioning systems manufacturer, police reported.
Surveillance video allegedly showed someone driving the pickup and ramming it into the company’s gate at about 1:45 a.m. July 26. However, the person couldn’t break through the gate and while driving onto the Unico parking lot, hit a trash can, the report said.
The damage to the gate was estimated at about $400, and the cost to replace the trash was estimated at $200, according to the report.
After getting onto the parking lot, the suspect drove behind the business, and an undetermined amount of scrap metal was stolen from an open tractor-trailer. A license plate was found on the parking lot, and it was registered to the F-250, which had recently been reported stolen in High Ridge, the report said.
As of Aug. 3, the stolen scrap metal had not been recovered, and no suspects had been identified, Maj. Clinton Wooldridge said. He asks anyone with information about the incident to call Arnold Police at 636-296-3204.
