jcso 2 children dead 5-28-24

Investigators search a Mazda SUV that was driven this morning to Festus City Hall and Police Station on Tuesday morning by a woman who allegedly told officers she killed two of her children.

Arnold Police are investigating damage to a pickup while it was at Plaza Tire, 301 Plaza Way, for repairs. The cost to repair the damage that occurred at the shop was estimated at $2,000, police reported.

A 41-year-old Imperial man had left the pickup, a 2000 Ford F-350, at the shop at about 2 p.m. July 26. When he returned for the truck at about 8 p.m. July 27, its doors were unlocked, and the ignition was damaged. It’s unknown if the man or one of the shop’s employees left it unlocked, the report said.

As of Aug. 7, no suspects had been identified, Detective Lt. Jeremy Christopher said. Anyone with information about the incident should call Arnold Police at 636-296-3204.
